Patch Manager will apply 1-2 inches of compost to your no dig patch! Applying compost OR manure is recommended to do in November. Once no dig beds are set up they only require 1 inch of compost every year to keep on feeding our soil microbes that help us grow nutritious vegetables. It is also recommended to sprinkle a bit of compost on top of ground that has been recently harvested but this isn’t 100% needed if we do our yearly top ups and feed our plants with organic fertilisers throughout the growing season. Commercial compost is heated to PAS100 regulations that removes good and bad microbial life. It takes a little longer for good microbial life to re-introduce itself to the growing medium so we recommend applying manure or a natural feed like seaweed to help stimulate the soil microbes into action. Please note that we will add compost to bare ground and it won’t be applied to already established plants. This will be delivered within 3-5 working days of booking.
