Fennel Harvesting

Charles teaches us the best ways in which to harvest fennel, as with other multisown plants, he recommends twisting out the larger ones to let the smaller ones continue to grow!

You will see in this example that there is three in a clump of varying sizes. With the biggest one here you can take a knife to it and cut under the bottom of the bulb to cut the root off without disturbing the soil.

Fennel tends to flower in mid summer, you can eat the leaves they’re also really tasty!
