Flea Beatles

Flea beatles are a tricky pest as they are hard to spot. They get their name because of the way they jump and you will know they've been on your patch when you find holes in your brassicas, asian greens or radish. The damage almost makes the leaves look like lace.

They live in the soil, so the best thing to do is ensure your patch is free of them before planting and then fleecing straight away. Another way to combat them if you've noticed damage is to get some sticky tape attached to a bit of cardboard and gently brush your hand across the leaves and try and catch them as they jump.

We don't suggest leaving this cardboard around as it can pick up bugs, that you don’t want to kill!
